ABOUT
To show Guitarists, Synth Players, Circuit Benders, and other Nerds that effects made with recycled computers are cool.

Recycled effects are also a lot of fun, both in playing as well as the building and designing of them.

Recycling the components off of old electronics involves smashing, crashing, burning, blasting, and otherwise bashing the brains out of stuff.

Isn’t that the best kind of fun?
Anyone can change the world.

But why does it have to feel like work? Why can’t it be fun?

It can be.

Using the resources of this site, and some of the other wonderful sites on the internet, it’s my sincerest wish that other people will start collecting electronic trash, diverting it from the landfill, and turn it into something great.

It can start as a hobby, and as with any great hobby, it can turn into so much more.

I hope the resources and spirit of this site start taking the electronics out of the trash and into our hearts.

Let’s start bashing and building!

Many companies are too secretive, too cheap, and too lazy to design their products with environmental values in mind.

Marketers are lathering themselves, and their clients, up in a slippery, slimy greenwash.

Being green is so trendy right now that many companies are hiring marketing companies to make them seem green, when in fact they are just spinning the same old products.

Let’s hit the man where it hurts.

Start exposing greenwash. Let your friends, family, and the internet know everything you can about deceptive environmental advertising.

Stop trashing old computers and electronics. There’s someone local who would love them. Maybe they would be interested in building something. Send them a link to this site!

Stop recycling without checking out local recycling businesses. Many claim to dispose of electronics properly, when it fact much of it ends up in foreign countries, in illegal “recycling towns” where it’s poisoning the water and children. Ask recycler about where their recycled materials go!

Start pressuring companies to actually use recycled components in their products. If there’s a perception that it’s important to consumers, then companies and their shareholders will listen, and they will have to change.

Core Idea for a Solution!
Inspiring people to act locally,
and to build the supporting resources
for the core idea for a solution.
Core Purpose for this Website!
There’s lots of electronics inside computers. Musical instruments and effects are fun to make. People who don’t make stuff prefer to pay someone else to make it.

This website will connect the dots between the parts inside old computers and freely available electronic designs on the web.

So if you want to build it, this website will help you find out what you can build based on what old electronics you have.

If you want to trash it, this website will let you know who’s doing this locally, so you can help them. They might even do pick-ups!

If you want to buy it,
we’ll show you what’s out there!

going to Do It!
